Am I Behind?

My lovely sister-in-law sent us the first piece of Everett's nursery! This wonderful mobile!

I keep having dreams that Little E comes and we are totally unprepared! We have started to collect some clothes and supplies but no major gear or necessities. Yikes! Tyler is gone now and I am very hesitant to start collecting until he gets back. I really want to be able to share the experience with him, so we will wait! I have the registries mostly completed with the exception of a couple of things we are being indecisive about. Am i running behind? I'm good at leaving things to last minute but this is most definitely not the time to do that! I'll make sure to keep you all updated on my progress :)

Do you have suggestions?? Please share them!

22 Weeks Pregnant!

I can't believe that I am 22 weeks along! It seems like just yesterday we found out. If you haven't been following along, we are having a boy and we are ecstatic! Everett is his name, he is quickly growing, and I can't wait to meet him.

My feet are slowly disappearing but I am feeling much better these days. Almost no nausea, although, I do get exhausted a lot quicker than I used to. He is moving around, letting me know he's in there. At first I thought it was so strange to feel a little human moving around in there and now I can't wait to feel him give me a kick. In the next week or so he will be able to start hearing noises outside the womb which is so exciting! I'm going to start reading to him asap, Harry Potter of course! I hope he enjoys it as much as Tyler and I do.

an ode to grey skies

These days are my favorite; grey, hazy, cool days that feel like warmth and home to me. Grey skies are, in my opinion, rather under appreciated. They allow you to enjoy the richness of the season and the crisp air, not stifled by heat. These days are my most productive and allow my imagination to roam on an empty canvas of possibility. The day can be made into whatever you desire, the options are endless. Not to mention, sweater wearing is a must!

I hope you are all enjoying your day as I am mine.

Bump Update

Yesterday I officially began my 18th week of pregnancy! Time is flying by. I cannot believe that I am almost halfway there!

Things have not changed too much from last week. I am still hungry all the time and glad to be moving forward.  Who knew that a year ago that my life would be where it is today? Funny how from day to day things don't feel like they change much but really things are changing all the time.

Next week this "Bump Update" business will be much more interesting because we will finally know what we are having!! Can't wait to share the news!

16 Week Pregnancy Update

Tomorrow I will be entering my 17th week of pregnancy so I will recap the 16th week for you now that it is complete.

I went to the doctor on Thursday of last week. Tyler was able to come with me for the first time since he returned from deployment which made it all the more exciting! We got to listen to the heartbeat and got a positive check out from the doctor. Everything is looking great and is right on schedule. My anatomy scan will be coming up in early September and I cannot wait! We are desperately hoping Tyler will be able to be there to see the baby for the first time.

I still haven't felt any movement and I am waiting impatiently to feel a kick! Weird pregnancy dreams are in full swing and they definitely live up to the hype! It's a new nonsensical movie every time I close my eyes.

I haven't been having any crazy cravings. It's actually been the opposite, everything sounds unappetizing so I've been enjoying a lot of broth based soup and watermelon. Exciting stuff, huh?

Even though I've been feeling sick and exhausted it has been such an amazing adventure so far. I cant wait to see where the road leads from here!

Neutral Nurseries

We are going to be working with a very small space to create a cozy nursery. These are few inspiration photos that I really enjoy. I would like to stick to white, grey. and black as base colors and use pops of primary colors to bring life to the space. These three nurseries are very different but they all have something I love. They are simple, clean, and have personal touches that give the space personality. I'll be keeping those things in mind as I shop for nursery necessities!

Warby Parker: SIMS

Before I began writing this blog I did a Warby Parker at home try-on. It was a lot of fun and it was much easier to commit to a new pair of specs after spending a day wearing them. I just received the real thing in the mail and I am ecstatic! I have a very narrow face and most glasses look monstrous on me. The last pair I bought were children's glasses, jealous? This time I wanted some glasses made for adults and these fit the bill. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the "Warby Parker Experience".  There is no obligation to purchase after the try on but I promise you will love them so much you will want to! Not only are they fashionable and unique from other glasses, they are extremely affordable. Mine are prescription but they are also offered as reading glasses and just for fun glasses without special lenses. I would like to do an at home try-on for their sunglasses because I am totally hooked!

If you are in the market for new glasses I would highly recommend checking them out.
